We begin this week with the sun in Taurus and the moon in Pisces. A soft energy, what is it that you need to feel good and nurtured right now? The moon shrinks and on Saturday it is new with a solar eclipse in Taurus. Eclipses are one of the biggest astrological events when it comes to fated events in our life. You who’s got sun or moon or rising sign in the archetype of Taurus or Scorpio, you will feel this the most.
A solar eclipse is when the moon lies right in between the sun and our earth. The moon fully or partly blocks the sunlight, and from earth we can see this as a solar eclipse. Historically eclipses were feared among humans, it was an event that was out of the ordinary. Today we know it is nothing to fear, however we also know that eclipses speed up time, open up doors, while suddenly shutting others. A solar eclipse is not like “regular” new moon, not for setting intentions.
This solar eclipse in Taurus marks the beginning of the eclipse season which will last until the end of June. Each eclipse season is its own eclipse story, happening on a specific axis. This season is about the Taurus and Scorpio axis. The Scorpio/ Taurus axis can be visualized like a rose; Taurus is the rose and Scorpio is the roots. The dark transformative magic vs the material world, our values and pleasure. One reason why the eclipses are so big is due to the fact that the lunar nodes are activated. The north node holds the direction toward which we are all striving, while the south node represents where we are coming from. The north node is in Taurus and the south node is in Scorpio. Among other things, this eclipse story will change the way we approach resources from nature, our relationship with mama earth, our values, and our relationship to intimacy.
Finally, Pluto planet of death and transformation is going retrograde on the 29th of April until october. The fact that this event occurs with the eclipse season means that healing on a deep deep level will occur. However, always when Pluto is involved, things tend to get uncomfortable.
